On June 17, the People's Committee of Long An province held a conference on accompanying businesses in developing the private economy in the spirit of Resolution No. 68 dated May 4, 2025 of the Politburo.

Attending the conference were Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Council - Dang Thi Ngoc Mai; Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - Huynh Van Son; representatives of the Business Association, Young Entrepreneurs Association, Tourism Association; investors in infrastructure of industrial parks and clusters, enterprises, cooperatives, and business households operating in the province.

Delegates at the conference

The conference was held to thoroughly grasp and implement Resolution No. 68 of the Politburo on private economic development, concretizing the spirit of the Resolution in accordance with the practical conditions of Long An province. Direct exchange between the provincial government and the private business community, listening to the difficulties, obstacles, thoughts and aspirations of businesses to discuss solutions to remove them, creating more favorable conditions for businesses to develop while perfecting the mechanism and policies for private economic development in the province.

Resolution No. 68 of the Politburo sets the target that by 2030, the private economic sector will account for about 60% of GDP, contribute 70% of total social investment capital, create jobs for about 70% of the workforce, and account for 50% of total export turnover. To realize this goal, the Resolution requires Party committees, authorities, socio-political organizations and the business community to coordinate closely, create a favorable environment, remove difficulties and obstacles, and maximize the potential of the private economic sector.

Deputy Director of the Department of Finance - Tran Van Tuoi reported on the implementation of Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW in the province

Deputy Director of the Department of Finance - Tran Van Tuoi said that in Long An province, there are currently about 26,700 enterprises with a total registered capital of over 373,000 billion VND, of which 16,845 are operating enterprises and more than 91,484 business households.

In recent years, despite facing many challenges from the domestic and international economic context, with the solidarity and unanimous efforts of the entire political system, together with the business community, Long An province still maintained impressive growth momentum in 2024. The province's growth rate reached 8.3%; budget revenue exceeded 26,500 billion VND, and per capita income reached over 107 million VND.

The situation of attracting investment and establishing enterprises has achieved positive results. The number of enterprises and entrepreneurs in the province has grown rapidly and gradually improved in quality; many enterprises have focused on building brands, enhancing reputation, expanding markets, creating jobs and stable income for workers.

In particular, Long An is honored to rank 2nd nationwide in terms of the most outstanding reform level during the two decades of PCI implementation (2005–2024) and ranked 3rd nationwide, continuing to lead the Mekong Delta region. This is a clear demonstration of the province's reform efforts, accompanying businesses and the important contribution of the business community and entrepreneurs to Long An's economic development.

However, according to the assessment, besides the achieved results, the private economy of Long An province still has many difficulties and limitations: Most small enterprises have weak management capacity, access to capital, land, and technology; digital transformation and innovation are still slow; support policies are still overlapping; propaganda and implementation at the grassroots level are still formal and inadequate, causing difficulties for businesses.

At the Conference, delegates focused on assessing the implementation of Resolution No. 68 in the province, analyzing difficulties and obstacles and proposing specific solutions. Representatives of associations and enterprises expressed optimism and confidence in Resolution No. 68, believing that this is a great opportunity for the private sector to grasp and develop. The Resolution clearly demonstrates the special attention of the Party and State to the private economic sector, considering it an important driving force for the country's development in the new era.

Many enthusiastic and responsible comments from the business community

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Huynh Van Son said that immediately after Resolution No. 68 of the Politburo was issued, Long An province urgently developed an Action Program to develop the private economy. Accordingly, the province identified key solutions such as: Renewing thinking, unifying awareness and action on the role of the private economy; promoting substantive administrative reform, creating an open and transparent investment environment; ensuring fair access to development resources; accompanying and supporting businesses in science and technology, innovation and digital transformation; Strengthening connections and forming linkage chains between private enterprises and economic sectors; forming and developing large-scale private enterprises with regional and global competitiveness; providing substantial and effective support for small and micro enterprises and business households; promoting business ethics, social responsibility and entrepreneurial spirit, creating conditions for enterprises to participate in national governance.
