The new Tay Ninh province will operate from July 1, 2025

The Standing Committee of Long An Provincial Party Committee agreed with the Standing Committee of Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee on the time to merge provincial-level organizations, agencies and units into operation from July 1, 2025.

On June 13, the 11th Long An Provincial Party Executive Committee Conference approved the Project to merge the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee and the Long An Provincial Party Committee.

The conference was chaired by Secretary of Long An Provincial Party Committee - Nguyen Van Quyet; Deputy Secretary of Long An Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut.

Through the proposal, Member of Long An Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Organization Committee - Le Thanh Nghiem emphasized that the merger of the two provinces into a new administrative unit is not only to expand the development space but also to promote the comparative advantages of each locality, promote investment attraction, socio-economic development and improve people's lives.

The draft project focuses on the main contents: Organizational structure, number of Party committees, standing committees, positions of secretary, deputy secretary and inspection committee; reorganization of Party agencies, local authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations; arrangement of cadres holding leadership and management positions; staffing after the merger; regimes, policies, plans and roadmap for streamlining staffing; etc.

“After the merger, the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee has only 101 subordinate Party organizations, including 96 Party Committees of communes, wards and Party Committees of Provincial Party Agencies, Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee, Party Committee of the Provincial Military, Party Committee of the Provincial Public Security, Party Committee of the Provincial Border Guard. The total number of Party members is 94,306 people” - Mr. Le Thanh Nghiem said.

Notably, the project determines the principle of maintaining a stable payroll, not exceeding the total number of cadres, civil servants and public employees of the two provinces before the merger. At the same time, the roadmap for streamlining payroll in conjunction with restructuring and improving the quality of the team will be seriously implemented, ensuring that after 5 years, it basically meets current regulations.

In addition, the maximum number of cadres, civil servants and public employees of the new province after the merger must not exceed the total number of cadres, civil servants and public employees of the two provinces before the merger. Regarding employees, in the immediate future, the number of employees of the new province after the merger must not exceed the total number of employees of the two provinces before the merger.

Emphasizing the importance of the merger project, Secretary of Long An Provincial Party Committee - Nguyen Van Quyet pointed out that the workload until the end of June 2025 is still very large and extremely important. This is a historic moment, marking a transition to a new stage of development with new conditions.

“I request to all uphold political determination, solidarity, consensus, urgency and focus on leadership and close direction, to best prepare all conditions, ensuring the official smooth operation of the new commune-level apparatus and the merged provincial-level apparatus from July 1, 2025” - Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet emphasized.

In addition, Long An Provincial Party Secretary directed the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee to closely coordinate with the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee to urgently receive, complete, and submit for signing and promulgation of the project, ensuring the progress of reporting to the Central Committee; promptly coordinate to advise on completing the dossier, plan, and submission for appointing the provincial-level Party Committee after the merger and send it to the Central Party Committee on June 13.

In addition, to ensure the smooth operation of the new commune-level apparatus, the Standing Committee of the Long An Provincial Party Committee will organize a trial operation of Party, government, Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at the commune level on June 18-19, 2025. Each district, town and city will select a central commune or ward to implement to gain experience and make timely adjustments before the official operation.

The Provincial Party Secretary requested that the preparation of headquarters, equipment, network infrastructure and working conditions for the new units must be completed before June 18, 2025. The handover of assets, documents, finances, seals, etc. must be completed before June 30, 2025, ensuring that all local activities take place normally, without affecting people and businesses./.
